The Gibraltar National Museum continues its 2026 Lecture Series with a public lecture by Dr Stewart Finlayson.
In his talk Dr Finlayson will examine the site of Devil’s Tower Cave, 100 years after the discovery of the Neanderthal child’s (Flint) skull. He will examine the mammal and bird remains discovered with the skull. He will use these finds to paint a picture of what would have been familiar to young Flint in a remotely distant Gibraltar.
This lecture forms part of the Gibraltar National Museum’s programme marking the centenary of the discovery of the Gibraltar 2 Neanderthal child skull known as 'Flint'.
Attendance is free, but pre-registration is required as seating is limited.
This lecture is the third in a public lecture series marking 100 years since the discovery of the Gibraltar 2 Neanderthal skull known as 'Flint'. Further lectures in the series include:
