Although perhaps best known for their work at Gorham’s Cave and the Neanderthals, Stewart, Geraldine and Clive Finlayson have spent their lives exploring and uncovering the secrets of the ecology of the Iberian Peninsula and beyond, particularly its birds.

Bird migration has been one of the topics which has fascinated them and which they have researched and written about extensively. Wildlife photography – and especially bird photography – has been a tool which they have used since well before the advent of digital cameras.

In their latest book – Bird Migration between Europe and Africa, just published – they explore the beauty and fragility of the world of migratory birds, and the importance of Gibraltar to them.
